Mr. Anthony Cheung has held positions at renowned financial institutions in London, Singapore, and Hong Kong (including Gartmore in the UK, Pictet in Switzerland, and BNP Paribas in France). He specializes in green investments and environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG). With years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region, emerging markets, ESG investments and corporate finance, Mr. Cheung's expertise spans three professions: ESG analyst, fund manager, and independent director of listed companies.
As the first institutional investor in Asia to be certified as an ESG analyst (CESGA), Mr. Cheung currently serves as a supervisor for the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) and Co-Chair of the Green Insurance Working Group of the Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA). An active advocate of corporate governance, he is the Vice Chairman of the Training Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and serves as an independent director and ESG Committee Chairman for a Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed company.
Mr. Cheung provides consultation and support to the boards of charitable organizations. He is the Vice Chairman of Friends of the Earth Hong Kong and a member of the Finance, Risk and the Audit Committee of Oxfam Hong Kong.
Mr. Cheung was invited as a visiting scholar at the University of Hamburg in German. He received his Bachelor of Economics with honors from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a postgraduate certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge. He is currently a senior accountant in CPA Australia and was awarded the I&M Asia ESG Leadership Award in 2019.
